History of Rohrer AG

Since the foundation of Rohrer AG back in 1962, the company made a continuous progress from a local mechanical shop to a market leader for packaging solutions in the Pharma- and Food-industries.

In the 1960's co-operations with pharmaceutical companies and machine builders were started, by manufacturing tools for blister production and FFS*-machines. The development and the patent for the PCC*-technology in the last years underlines the leading position in the area of FFS tools.

The development and the early production of the transdermal patches was made possible through the high precision cutting tools from the Rohrer AG.

Since 1995 Rohrer AG develops and produces its own machine line for packaging development and production purposes for high quality pharmaceutical solutions.

Further research work and filing for patents in the area of orally fast-disintegrating tablets, led to a spin-off under the name of Pantec AG.

To achieve a stronger international approach to important markets, Rohrer France SAS (2003) and Rohrer North America Inc. (2007) were founded.

Since 2006 two Business Units are taking care within Rohrer AG of the various business areas.

Today, Rohrer AG and its 60 employees are producing at two Swiss locations, in Moehlin and Rheinfelden near Basel.
